Bimat eye drops are used by patients who have been diagnosed with intra ocular high pressure, a state which can lead to glaucoma. Left untreated, glaucoma can lead to blindness. By reducing intra ocular pressure, the risk of blindness associated to this condition is drastically reduced.

Instructions for  0.03% Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution.

Read the instructions for the use of LATISSE before the first and each subsequent use of the drug. The information may be updated.

What is hypotrichosis of eyelashes?

Hypotrichosis is a medical term meaning an unsatisfactory condition or insufficient number of eyelashes.

What is Bimatoprost?

Bimatoprost is a prescription drug for the treatment of hypotrichosis, used for the growth of eyelashes, making eyelashes longer, thicker and darker. Does Bimatoprost have contraindications to use? A contraindication to the use of LATISSE is an allergy to one of the components of the drug. Are there any special restrictions associated with the use of LATISSE? LATISSE is intended for application to the skin of the upper eyelid at the base of the eyelashes. It is not recommended to apply the drug to the lower eyelid. If you use LUMIGAN or other medications with increased intraocular pressure (LDPE), or if you have ever had LDPE, you should use LATISSE under the strict supervision of your attending physician. The use of LATISSE can lead to darkening of the eyelid skin, which disappears when the drug is discontinued. The use of LATISSE can also cause an increase in brown pigmentation of the iris, which may be permanent. (Note: The real risk of changing the color of the iris exists with medical use – instilling the drug into the eyes.) It is also possible to grow hairs on the skin in places where frequent contact with LATISSE occurs. To avoid this, in case of contact with the skin (except for the upper eyelid), this place should be soaked with a thin cloth or other absorbent material. There may also be differences in the length, thickness, pigmentation, number and/or direction of growth of eyelashes on different eyes. These differences usually disappear after stopping using LATISSE. Who needs to be informed about the use of LATISSE? You should inform your doctor about using LATISSE, especially if you have had problems with intraocular pressure. You should also report the use of LATISSE to a specialist measuring eye pressure. What should I do if LATISSE gets into my eyes? LATISSE is a pharmaceutical product for the eyes, so it will not cause irritation if it gets directly into the eyes. In this case, the eyes do not need to be washed. What are the possible side effects of using LATISSE? The most common side effects of using LATISSE are itching and/or redness of the eyes. These symptoms were observed in about 4% of patients. The use of LATISSE can cause other much less common side effects. This may be darkening of the eyelid skin, eye irritation, dry eyes and redness of the eyelids.
